I have morphed my old Light Amp News Blog into a “new” blog providing updates of significant kingdom events in my local region (the greater Seattle, Washington state area). My tagline for the blog is “encountering Jesus in WA and beyond.” So, if you are living or traveling in Northwest US, be sure to drop by heaven invading washington and see what’s going on!
As calm as the ocean sea
The sound washes over me
As healing as the soothing balm
Let the wave come, let it come
As still as the morning sky
It’s gentleness I shall ride
As bright as the closest star
Resonating strings on guitar
Colorful as the autumn leaves
The wind blows her breeze
As deep as the submarine
The stains are made clean
Notes sustained to signify
Worship, sung to glorify
Drawing near to the beauty
Of heaven’s eternity
Closer kneeling before the throne
Before the Father’s very own
Son I bow and wholly adore
I play the very chord
Collide
The beauty and the broken
Collide
The hope and the weakened
Collide
The song and the tremor
Collide
The saints and the terror
Collide
The heavens and below
Collide
Creator with my soul
Collide
The joy and the jaded
Collide
Love is, underrated
By Samuel Liu
This is what the LORD says: “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Where is the house you will build for me? Where will my resting place be?”
Isaiah 66:1
In the Old Testament, Israel built tabernacles and the Temple in Jerusalem as the “house of the Lord,” the resting place where God’s manifest presence dwelled on the earth. In the New Testament, Paul writes that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor 6:19), and so now, the house that we build for God is not a physical building, but an internal “garden” within our hearts.
A garden locked is my sister, my bride, a spring locked, a fountain sealed…
Let my beloved come to his garden, and eat its choicest fruits.
Song of Solomon 4:12, 16
It is interesting to note that, as the word “temple” conveys a sense of holiness, glory, majesty, reverence, and awe, the word “garden” depicts rest, fellowship, leisure, and pleasure. God has already established his throne (temple) in heaven, so it is no wonder the first place He created to meet with man on the earth was a garden, the Garden of Eden.
Today, for each of us to build the house of God in our lives, we need to cultivate the garden within our hearts, so God can come and walk with us in our gardens. How do we prepare our gardens for the Lord? There are many keys. One key is to constantly sow the Word of God into the soil of our hearts, to bear much fruit, as Jesus depicted in the parable of the sower (Mark 4:20). As we spend time immersing ourselves in the Word of God, we are building a house of devotion to the Lord, and providing a resting place for Him to dwell.
This is a great soaking worship album by Laura Rhinehart, Kimberly Rivera’s sister. I sense that Laura has the redemptive gift of servant, and if you are familiar with Arthur Burk‘s teachings on the redemptive gifts (the list of gifts listed in Romans 12), you would know that the servant gift has attributes of healing and cleansing.
Laura’s music is very strong in imparting the healing and grace of God, and she releases the heavenly atmosphere of the Father’s tender love and care. I do highly recommend this album. You can learn more about it, listen to sample tracks, and purchase it (CD or mp3s) by clicking on the album cover art above.
